Female athletes tear their ACL at up to eight times the rate of male athletes. The question everyone asks is whether hormones are to blame.
The honest answer: they’re part of the picture, but they’re not the whole story. The factor that matters most is one we can actually change, how the knee is trained to absorb force when an athlete lands, cuts, and decelerates. When female athletes go through targeted neuromuscular and strength training, injury rates drop meaningfully.
